My uncle (Bill Mills) was in 383 after being captured in Greece. He passed to me, and I still have it, his copy of "Brbed Wire".

My father was in 383 after Dunkirk until 45. He never spoke of it at all. he died in 1954 so this book is a great eye opener and fills many gaps. Thank you

Great site.
I am the son of Roy Kilner ( Tanky )
Great to see him on the web with the rest of his old mates at stalag 383.
If only he was still here to see them.
Many thanks

My grandfather was Pop Gilbey in stalag 383. I have a copy of this book and believe that all the prisoners were all mentioned through the book. Sadly my grandfather died of cancer not long after being repatriated home. So I never knew him.

Hi. Thanks for making this website, my Mum was thrilled when she found out about it.

Im the grandson of Alfred Charles Vincent Tuck. I was wondering, do you have any more information on him or anybody else mentioned in the book, as my Nan lent his copy of the book to someone many years ago, and no one in the family has seen it since.

this is outstanding. I am the son of Hans Deutsch, a POW known as Cpl John Trevor, a name he assumed after being captured in Crete after leaving Austria to fight against the Germans. He assumed the surname Trevor-Deutsch post was to remember the name that saved his life. He was so pleased to learn about this book (now 87). I have been going through many of his photos and will submit them shortly.

Thank you so much

Thanks for publishing this book online. I am the grandson of Allan Wiggins who is referred to in the book. Any other information about him, the escapes or the camp would be gratefully received.
